Who we are
Clinical therapeutic medical physics has undergone a meaningful transformation in recent years. For decades, the profession maintained a well‑defined scope of service in the United States—machine quality assurance, chart checks, treatment plan review, stereotactic planning, and radiation safety. While these responsibilities remain essential, the way they are delivered has changed significantly.
Over the last three to five years, the field has seen a clear and lasting separation between on‑site duties and remote‑capable tasks. Initially accelerated by the pandemic, remote physics work has not only persisted but expanded. Many clinics now incorporate one to two remote days per week into their staffing models, leveraging off‑site support for chart checks, plan reviews, dosimetry assistance, troubleshooting, QA analysis, and stereotactic planning. Remote work has become a stable and valuable component of modern clinical operations.
This evolution is what inspired the founding of Raio Physics. We recognize that clinics often rely on their in‑house physicists for routine workload while outsourcing only specialized projects such as shielding, commissioning, or radiation safety. Our philosophy reverses that paradigm. The in‑house physics team should be free to focus on the clinic’s highest‑priority initiatives—commissioning new equipment, managing expansions, improving safety infrastructure, and advancing quality of care. A remote physics partner can shoulder the routine, high‑volume tasks that consume time but are essential for daily operations.
Raio Physics was created to be that support system. We serve clinics during periods of growth, high patient volume, or temporary understaffing by providing reliable, flexible remote physics services. Our model allows centers to access professional physics support without committing to a full‑time hire. Instead, they receive the services they need, when they need them, at a rate aligned with actual workload. This approach ensures that patient‑care obligations—such as chart checks and QA review—continue uninterrupted, while the in‑house team gains the bandwidth to complete critical projects that move the clinic forward.
Raio Physics exists to strengthen clinical operations, enhance flexibility, and empower physicists to focus on the work that matters most.
